I love spending money when I can. But even more I love saving money. And to help save quite a bit of money is the service called PriceProtectr.com – This website allows you to enter the item you bought – the date you bought it on and the price you paid and your email address. They will then check to see if the price dropped on the item you purchased. If the item price dropped you can then get a refund from the company. According to their site they have helped save over $1.2 Million dollars.
I purchased a video game on May 6th for $49.99 – I thought I got a pretty good deal but I still put this into price protecter. I purchased from Amazon. Their refund limits is 30 days. So this website knows that and will stop “Protecting You” the moment you no longer need protecting.
Back to my example about 2 weeks go buy and in my email at 6am I get a not from PriceProtectr.com stating that the video game dropped $10.25. The also gave me all the information I needed and where to find the information I needed to call Amazon and get the $10.25 refund. I logged into my Amazon Account to get the order Number – I called the 800 number for Amazon and right away got Jeff. He asked me for the order Number which I was prepared to give. He then asked me why I was calling. I told him there was a price drop on one of the items I ordered. He then looked it up and said I was correct and then said he would issue a credit for the $10.25. I then hung up with Jeff. Total time on call was about 6 mins tops. Getting a refund from Amazon is really easy to do and really is not a hassle.
What really amazed me with Amazon is within minutes I got an email from them stating the call and the reason I called and there will be a refund to my credit card. Great service, great communication. WOW – No this only works if you purchased directly from Amazon and not from one of their merchants.
Now, Back to PriceProtectr.com – They will monitor the price for 114 different stores – They will price watch from Amazon – Apple Store – Best Buy, Circuit City, Costco, Sears, Staples and many many more.
So, to help you save a buck or two I highly recommend using this service to make sure you got the lowest price available to you.
